Fun With Lights

Today, one of our club members put on a "Light" workshop. He demonstrated a lot of techniques and we tried our hand afterward. Some involved with John waving a strip of color changing LED lights.

And with colors reversed

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Great - I really like the first one (which I guess was the strip of colored LEDs?)

Correct. John was waving a strip of color changing LEDS. #2 and 3 are a strip of red LEDS being waving plus a chem light stick being swung around.

Here's painting a classic with a red laser pointer.

Our "mentor", John Nolte, had an amazing collection of unique lighting. Besides the LED strips and light sticks, he had LED Christmas strings, lamps with adjustable snoot (homemade), umbrellas, reflectors, black panels and even a hula hoop with a string of LEDS threaded inside. He wore black so he didn't show up in the shoot but I'll bet he has the white coat somewhere.

Baydream,
i love your last Pic - The one with colors reversed.

One from my end too...
shot at a motel sometime around Diwali( Indian festival of lights, marking the victory of good over evil) on one of my roadtrips to Bhutan.
I call this one enlightenment. its a simple LED bulb( those tiny ones)
and the pic marks to me the realisation and emotions that suffuses ones body, when he feels the true essence of his spirits.
