Well I have pretty much everything that I need to start this little project lol.
Nikon D200
Nikon SB-600
Nikon SB-25
Promaster wireless triggers
2 tripods

Anywho, I have been wanting to really get into the whole strobist stuff and decided that today would be a great day to start. Dont mind the subject, I needed something that could sit still for extended periods of time haha. Tomorrow, I think Im going to drag my son to the backyard and give a really try at this.......we'll see if he wants to though..

So here is the set up.
SB-25 at 90* camera right 1/16 power
SB-600 at 45* camera left 1/8 power +.3 compensation
D200 at -3 exposure compensation (to under expose the background) photos shot during daylight/full sun

Original with only some high pass shapening done

With a overlay done as well

Nikon 50mm f1.8D, Tokina 28-80 f2.8, Nikon 75-300, Sigma 18-200, Nikon SB-600, Nikon SB-25, Promaster triggers

The pics are neat. So my understanding is that strobist is a new word for off camera flash?

You will not be judged as a photographer by the pictures you take, but by the pictures you show.

Strobist usually pertain to strobes lights which are more powerful and flexible than regular flashes.

Strobist has just become the word to desribe artificial lighting theory.

Nice shots btw. I need to work more on my strobe theory...I might join you soon.
