Cars - Critiques welcome

I'm not one to usually take pictures of cars/trucks, but I recently attended a car show benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project. I couldn't help but snap a few shots. Critiques are definitely welcomed... Granted at least one of the photos, there wasn't anyway to get around the people walking around so that may have thrown the main focus out in the photo.

Car shows in mid-day light are really tough to shoot. I would suggest a polarizing filter to reduce the glare from the chrome and the windshields. The high contrast of the dark colored cars and the bright glare is rough, but not bad when you're not used to these conditions.

FYI - I edited your posts and clicked on the INSERT button next to each photo to get them to show full size.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Thanks for the input! I need to get a polarizing filter for the lens I used that day and thought of that after the fact. I'm still building my equipment stock. I had no idea about that insert button next to the photos. That was only my second post on this site ever. Thanks again for the feedback, it's greatly appreciated!

Nice set. That high contrast with blown out whites could be seen as a plus, if you were going for a nostalgia look. Standing this on its head: From a technical viewpoint, there are techniques like polarizers to tame the image and achieve the perfect natural look. But turning a flaw into a "wow" takes talent.

I don't necessarily dislike them, and I don't think you lessened the beauty of the cars at all. But (to me :toocrazy: ) the overblown areas and the high contrast blows it for me. I'm not digging the crop on the truck either. But very nice effort. Let's see more!!

and Welcome!

Okay, I don't know a TON about photography and what everyone said above me is a million times more valuable than any critique I'd give. HOWEVER, my 3 year old son has been starting at these for several minutes and I don't think I'll be able to take them off the screen without a fit from him. :) Great pics!
