Fine Art Photography

On this forum it seems many people have experience as professional photographers who do wedding, portraits, freelance, product, etc.  Does anyone have experience in the art world?  I enjoy photography as art.

I want to pursue photography as art and have a dream of having my photos in exhibits/galleries and such but I have zero experience or knowledge to do so.  If anyone here has experience I would love to hear thoughts on how to pursue this avenue.

Thanks guys

…some journey!

There are so many ways to define and perceive "art" it is easy to
get lost.

Ultimately, it is an approach and a constance in one's work in any
given direction that describe best what art is for that very work.

Art is not something one is doing but what one has done… just me!

Light is free… capturing it is not!

"Art is...what one has done" and I am looking for an outlet.  I do not mean to say anyone's wedding (or other) photos are not art(istic).

My question is more to intent than definition.  My intent is not to be a wedding photographer, etc. Sure a wedding photography is an artist - the way he/she utilizes light and shadows and whatever else.  So art or not these do not interest me.  My intent is showing the photos I do take and I have no experience in or connections to people who have experience in galleries and exhibitions.  This is the direction I would like to head and why I say "in the art world."
