I prefer the softer focus.  Sorta dreamy.

There are photographs everywhere. It is the call of photographers to see and capture those images.

The colour contrast is vivid enough to go for the softer focus but
this is like salt… one must know when, where to stop.

What would make the shot even more spectacular is a WB tweak +
tonal taming. Boy… I wish I could get the RAW file on my screen!

Light is free… capturing it is not!

The "softer" one is more interesting. Did you shoot it that way?

Both are way too green.
The sharper one isn't actually in focus. Or doesn't appear to be here.
The sharper one has blown highlights. The light was not your friend.

Some post is called for.

The first shot is I think the most successful. I am not really a fan of vignette shot but it has the potential.

Both of extreme ends. The first is too soft and the other is too sharp ind details. Kelly is right, something in between.

That's what I was thinking when I put both up there. The comments I'm seeing seem to confirm that. Thanks for your input. I was trying for "artsy" with the soft one but it still didn't seem right to me.

It is almost artsy. The first shot is fine though just needs a little sharpness.
