Thanks everyone, I really appreciate your comments! John, I learned to swim in the Atlantic Ocean, are you familiar with Searsport, Maine? It's definately like being in Ice water but it's great how you can float so well. It was the perfect place to learn to swim. :)

Yes, Shanna. We stopped in Searsport the year before last at the Rug Hooking store to buy a hooking frame. We spent many vacations traveling the coast from Portland to Lubec and all points in between. I tried going in the water at Acadia but didn't make it past my ankles. :) My boys were young then and when in for over an hour. Looked like 2 Smurfs afterward.

Great shot Shanna, nice color.

Rminds me of when I was on the jetty's during the Perfect Storm Nor'Easter back in '92 (or whenever that was), where the wave I took a photo of engulfed me in knee deep water, and I had no retreat till the wave went back out. While I know the jetty's inside and out, I don't know them well enough to try and move if I can't see them. Made me think twice about my shooting location...

Thank you so much everyone! John, I know exactly where you're talking about, been by that place a hundred times over the years. lol, not past your ankles? I've been all the way in, many times but That was a Longgggg time ago. '92 sounds about right Joie and you were lucky too, that could have sucked you right in. You'd better be careful out there! :)
