Finally at the right place at the right time-direct sun

There I am, out at the park with my sons. I look up and am amazed at the sight before me (or above me)! I did the best I could on this one. Any tips on how I could've captured this better? I didn't mess around with trying to set the camera. I wanted to make sure I shot the image. I was in aperture priority mode @ f22. Thank you!

Thank you! I can't figure out why it came out so grainy. It was taken at ISO 100. Any thoughts in why it's so grainy? This is really something I'd like to know, in case I have another opportunity like this.
Thank you!

I forgot about this one. I love the scale between the plane and the sun.

Amazing scene... bravo on demanding a shot of it. A GND would be interesting to use on this. Also what length lens was this. It looks like a telephoto judging from the size of the suns disk. A wider angle might have been the shot. For sure you can tell this was taken with a Canon... Nikon would have blown this out totally...

This was shot with a Canon t3i. I used my 70-200 as it was the only lens I had with me at the moment.
