Awesome house. I want to move it. Oh sorry, this is about the photo, not the house. Great photo too, not bad for a cell phone pic.

Wow, that would probably look pretty bad-a$$ as a HDR.

Nikon D200
Nikon 50mm f1.8D, Tokina 28-80 f2.8, Nikon 75-300, Sigma 18-200, Nikon SB-600, Nikon SB-25, Promaster triggers

Mmm a RAW file would hold enough dynamic range to process that photo and retain the details throughout. No need to HDR.

It too bad they won't allow cameras in Biltmore. What an incredible "palace". Guess they want to sell you postcards.
Inside Biltmore House:
Photography, videotaping, sketching, and cell phone use are not permitted within Biltmore House.
Outside Biltmore House:
Taking photographs of the exterior of Biltmore House and grounds, or sketching images of estate grounds, is permitted for personal use only. All commercial uses are prohibited without express written consent. Recording, filming, photography, or taping of any concert or event is strictly prohibited.

Note:
Not far down the road is the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad. Really neat photo ops and rides. We rode in a caboose and had a great time. The wreck (engine and bus) from the movie "The Fugitive" were still there when I visited (think they are still there). First time in US film history a real train was used in a wreck. Before that it was all models.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.
