Old Idaho School

One from vacation last October. We traveled west to Montana, then through Idaho down the western side of the Rockies, then east to the Tetons into a rain--->snow storm for 5 days. And then we went home. Never did see the Tetons this trip due to the fog/clouds/rain/snow. Anyway, this is one of the last photos I took in decent weather. It is an old school house in Idaho near Swan Valley. I used a stock photo a few years ago of this building in a photomanip. I just liked the building, had no idea where it was. Then when I was planning the trip and scouring photos along our route I found out it was located just a few miles from our route. Had no idea if the building was still there, but I just couldn't pass it up. The only discrepancy I found was the chimney had fallen off by the time I got there. It was still dangling on the side of the building by a cord.

Stunning photo. Beautiful sky and colors. Great point of view to add drama to the foreground. All round

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Nice lighting (which is crucial for landscapes). I would have been tempted to elevate the camera position slightly, to allow the distant valley behind the building to breathe more.

Thanks everyone.

Kelly, This was taken from the road, there was a pretty steep embankment up to the schoolhouse on this side. I do have some photos where I was up higher, but this was my favorite view out of the lot. From higher up you can see the road that cuts behind the schoolhouse and it didn't appeal to me, it looked too new.

Great shot......

You will not be judged as a photographer by the pictures you take, but by the pictures you show.
