Harper's Ferry, WV

This past weekend I had the good fortune to be near Harper's Ferry, WV. I had not been there for many years. Questions, comments and critiques are welcome, but re-shooting is not an option. I am still shooting manual mode. I shot these with my Canon 7d and my 24-105 lens.

Great shots !! I love the dog and the contrast of the fur. The picture is great the way it is but It would be fun to try some post and blurr the background a bit and sharpen the contrast of the dog, The pics of the church are nice, a problem I use to have ( likely still do sometimes) is forget to see what else is in the picture, in the picture of the steps and Church the light pole is directly in front of the steeple, maybe a few steps to the side may have moved it out of way. They are great pictures.....

You will not be judged as a photographer by the pictures you take, but by the pictures you show.

Thank you Darrell. I saw that, too and tried to do a work around. Let me see what else I can find. I did not have the stamina to climb these stairs!!!!

Marie, I agree with Darrell. Harper's Ferry is a favorite on mine but I have not been there in a few years. Your wonderful captures brought back memories and reminded me why I love that place.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Nice photos!
I particularly like the 6th one. It would really good in the horizontal position.... With the wall running off into the distance in the nice bokah effect you have going on. That's just my humble opinion
Very nice :)

Very nice shots! One would think, since I live in Maryland, I would go to Harper's Ferry. HA! It's only a couple hours from home, BUT.... work, work, work!

Great place to shoot. Plus at nearby Summit Point, there is a SCCA auto race track. The regional events are great because you can stroll the pits (at least you could a couple of years ago when I worked Timing & Scoring.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Karl, I did this version for you. Thanks for the suggestion. I like this look also.

bigbubbaG - you HAVE to go. Things I took for granted are gone or going. Like the Hilltop Inn. I expected it to still be operational, but it is abandoned, deteriorating and fenced off. A grand old lady allowed to rot. A shame.
