I like in the second one how the object in the water mimics the tall buildings in the background - the use of vertical lines and forms in your composition. The B&W conversions though I think tend to look grayscale more than really black and white but I'm not sure if it could be adjusted differently. The first one has a nice balance of the skyline and the foreground.

Both photos doesn't seem to have the black and white effect, everything seems graytone...the sky on both photos also have that grayish effect....
