drink milk

this was one of the most amazing experiences of my life!
i had the opportunity this last two weeks to travel to the atacama desert in chile to photograph some core samples and mines.

last night i headed out to the inca gold mine. 1000 feet elevation, 100km from the nearest town and lights. i have never seen the milky way like this before...

c&c welcome!
this was a 30 second exposure at F/4 iso 3200.
i am trying to decide if i should brighten up the foreground at all, or if that will just make it look unrealistic... thoughts?

This is an amazing shot - tweak away and have some fun. You've already got a keeper in the original. A+... :judge: :judge: :judge:

Thanks for sharing!

Make me wonder what it was like 200 years ago to see this kind of sky all of the time. Something that was taken for granted back then I'm sure.

Sorry I missed this when it was first posted. The title put me off, I thought it was a thread on lifestyle! Very nice. I'd like to see the Milky Way lightened a little. And make the distant buffs more even, left to right. Not so dark on the right, not so bright on the left.
