Another old image I decided to play around in LR with. This one was made with the D70 I had at that time.

I like it, it seems quite layered, but I can't help thinking perhaps there's a bit too much going on in this shot. The colours are certainly interesting.

Suggested crop to reduce some of the foreground that seems a little redundant:

Just my opinion, but I think this draws the eye into the main features a bit more.

What a winner this shot is! Reminds me of a old western movie!

Excellent shot, I'm on the fence with the cropped version vs the original.

Fantastic shot, especially after the cropping.

I'm really liking this shot and the edit. I'm also on the fence with the crop. The cropped version probably comes closer to following the rules of good composition, but what I like in the original is that you get a better sense of the dramatic clouds by seeing so much of the shadow that they cast. Either way I'm a fan.

Thanks folks. Stealthy, I had cropped the image earlier but decided I didn't like it as well. I like the shadow and light play in the foreground. It also gives the sought after, dark-light-dark-light progression through the frame. This is one that I will have to come back to in a couple of days and see which I prefer. I just got LR and was seeing what I could do with it. So far it seems to be something I can use instead of just Photoshop. Thanks for all comments and critiques. I appreciate everyone's time.

I will go with the full view as the light colours of the vegetation are leading lines

Cool.  Try black and white too. Though I suspect that will be worse since the colours are what makes this photo shine.

Lovely, but I agree with the photographer about not cropping the photo.  It does lose something special.
