G'day all

The town has been blanketed in smoke haze for the last couple of days, but it cleared a bit overnight ~ so I ventured out at sunrise for a wander around the harbour. Here's a couple ....
typical exif ... Panny FZ-200; 1/1600s x F7,1; ISO-100; lens between 40 & 70 FF equiv

1) full sun present in frame

2) just the glow of the sun + bit more zoom

3) different framing

Preferences? any thoughts? ... As always, feedback welcome

Nice shots, for me #2 did it.  I like the tighter feeling to the boat and feel this shot takes the cake here.

I think so too. The second shot is much better framed. The highlights are a bit blown though.

All 3 pictures are looking good. But 2nd one is really awesome.

Good job on mood.

The focus looks *ahem* "soft" on the first two, which bothers me. Centering the subject bothers me. And given the lack of color, I'd suggest going to B&W to see what happens.

The third is sharp, but the crop is awkward. I'd lose the left 25%/corresponding top portion. Focus on the boat in context would, for me, produce a stronger image.

I could be wrong.

I agree that the third has good focus. I think one way to go here is to try it with B&W.

Put me down for a vote on the last one.  I like the close up frame, I feel I'm more part of the boat.
