Aussie bush ~ the Savannah grasslands areas
Across northern Oz there are large swathes of country loosely called 'Savannah' ie- grassy plains in tropical and subtropical regions, with few large trees growing there. Such areas generally have poor soils and are left to cattle grazing with a ratio of 1-beast to up to 100 acres / 40 hectares. We recently camped a while in such an area, and I thought that some here might like to get the feel of some Aussie back-country
1)- open grasslands, easy to become lost should you lose sense of direction
2)- sparse trees, plenty of grassland

This was shot in the Eidsvoldt / Cracow area of Queensland where I stopped well away from city lights for the moon eclipse of a week or two ago ~ and I had nothing better to do during the arvo.
