70-300mm

Is 70-300mm a good lens for wildlife or should I get something bigger. I've been using it for awhile now, but at times I want to get closer to my subject.

70-300 is a fine lens, but if you feel you need to get closer and you are ready to have a bigger lens, then by all means by yourself a bigger lens. I have a 70-300 for a few years and eventually upgraded to a 50-500.

:agree: Many of my posted wildlife shots are with the 70-300 (a 112-460mm equivalent on a crop camera). The 500 would be a great addition.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

I will speak from my own experience. I am very happy with my VR70-300. However, no matter how long a lens you decide on, it will soon become too short.........:)

Why so serious?
