Alienbee Ringflash

13 years 6 months ago #4399 by Martin
I'm looking at this Alienbees ABR800 Ring flash set up for $400 bucks. I've been looking around and this isn't the cheapest nor most expensive. Although in my search I did find a couple users who' weren't happy with their set ups from these guys. Which is why I'm posting this question, to see if I can get some more feedback on this companies lighting and flash systems.

I use these flashes. I actually have 2. They're not for beginners, AT ALL. Studio ring flashes are for removing shadows, but you have to know how to compensate or you'll get weird halos around people.

You also have to learn how to accommodate your ratios for harsher lighting.

Most people that complain about them, don't know what they're doing, or just want more power.

I'm shopping for lighting equipment and the rep over at Alienbee's told me just about the same thing.
