I just got a macro lens (85 mm Nikon macro) and these are a few of my first shots. :)
All were shot at
ISO: 100, F/29 1/250 sec With a speed light and soft box.
I think this one was like 1:2 the rest are 1:1






100% crop of the above image no editing (600 X 450 I do not know if it will show up full size)



I will add these to an album later right now I am heading back out to see what I can find :P

Nice job, Lila.
My only suggestion is that f/29 is a bit excessive due to Lens Diffraction . While some will say it's not as bad as suggested, it becomes more important if doing extreme crops such as the eye detail photo. From experience, f/11 generally gives the best compromise between dof & diffraction, with f/16 the maximum aperture I'd consider. Next, to brighten the background you can open-up even more. The trick is to experiment, and find a balance that works for your particular lens.
