How is the dragonfly looks in 6" distance

Hi Hussain,
This guy must be of pretty good size compared to the ones here, which is highly probable, since I've seen some specimens of various ones that were. It's a great shot, nice clean detail without over processing... not an easy task, but you pulled it off great.
Thanks

for this type of subject, I prefer the smallest one. That will let you control the DOF much better :)

Chuckle...
You're a much more "perfectionist" than I am. Even though my MPE-65mm goes to 5X, I prefer shooting with my 100mm and teleconverter... even though I lose some detail. And if I'm lucky enough to find a large insect, it puts a big grin on my face. And I've never minded doing a little cropping if it helps composition, or to bring out detail. But, as I've said many times, my processing stinks, and I'm too lazy to worry about it.
Thanks, fun thread.

I think the 100mm with TC will work better you can add an extention tube then you will get an awesome closeup :)

for editing you just need some sharpen on the eyes ^_^

Do not hesitate if you like my help

Since I haven't seen any dragons yet, here's an old shot of a Blue Dasher I've probably posted before, but wanted to see this thread keep going...

Thanks, my friend. This was taken with the EF 100mm macro, and Canon EF Life-Size Converter made for their older 50mm f/2.5 lens. The focus distance remains the same, so for any given magnification, the dof is increased due to the extra distance. Then, it's had around 20% cropped to help show the eye facets better. A lazy man's way of avoiding stacking.

I don't have many dragon shots, but I'll double check to see. Love to see more of yours, and other peoples instead.:)

Thanks.
