Focus Issues

9 years 10 months ago #381916 by enjohn49
Hello, I am new to Photographytalk and am desperate for help. I am really struggling with manual focusing due to wearing vari focal glasses. For those who do not wear these, the problem is that when looking through the viewfinder you're always looking through the same part of the lens, due to the angle. The diopter is at it's maximum magnification but I need more in order to focus. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to choose the correct strength magnifier adapter to fit to the viewfinder and also on a reliable make? Thank you.

I only wear glasses to read, and never use them when operating the camera..(chimping maybe..:P )
This seems to be a good read.......... www.nslphotographyblog.com/2011/08/focus...n-while-wearing.html

Why so serious?

A) Don't manually focus? Or use a tripod and do your best.
2) Can you get glasses set specifically for your camera? I have progressive lenses and horrible eyesight, which makes my macro work challenging. I just keep at it. I know that's not much help.

I had thought about specific glasses, but as it is even though I have the vari focals I still need different glasses for reading and another pair for computer work! You're right about the tripod, I think I need to use it more even though at times it can be limiting. The joys of getting old I guess!!

How about a pair of cheap, drugstore plastic glasses that you can keep in your vest just for that job?
