Assassin Bug with it's meal

Nice to see this forum picking up steam & posts....Since Randy posted some shots earlier, the wind has died down here (calm before the storm?), so I went out to the garden to see what I could find. There were almost no bees (due to approaching storm?) but then I spotted this Assassin Bug with a bee in it's beak...

Very cool shots. This bug looks hungry - maybe he ate the other bees?

Went back out for some more shots & found a little Bee hiding in the petals as well...Seems the insect dips it's proboscis repeatedly into different parts of its prey...

& Here's the Bee

Great shots, but I feel really bad for the poor bee. He just seems so wounded in the last image.

Great series Scott. I haven't seen this particular assassin before, any idea of it's species?
Thanks for sharing, keep up the good work.

Went out to the flower bed again today & it's still there...Had another one of those little bees...Also got some shots of a juvenile "stink bug" but I had trouble getting the focus down pat on it...
