There is definately a great sense of power here, but I feel a little more of the rocks on view would help even more. :thumbsup: :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

While I agree with David's comments, especially on the need for more rocks, I have diffculty accepting the rendition of water. Real falling water simply doesn't look "creamy" , and I think a different technical choice of aperture and shutter speed could capture more of the texture of falling water as it actually appears in nature, and convey its motion and power.

Ah, but should photos always duplicate reality? How much artistic license is there in exactly reproducing reality every time?

Personally, I have a lot of fun watching and studying water. Watch it long enough and you may begin to see it as a long exposure. If you don't want to that is fine too, but keep in mind that a lot of folks enjoy the moving water effect.

The shot is a good enough example of that effect... but yeah, it definitely needs much more to tell us anything meaningful.

Is this what you are talking about? More definition to the water?? Haven't edited the pic yet so it is dark.
