Greenfinch.

Took this pic on a rather gre day with terrible light. This is as much detail as I could pull out of it, my PP needs a bit of working on, but I was happy enough to get reasonably close to this one and get a few shots. Greenfinch have seen a dramatic fall in numbers over the past few years so any chance to get a photo has to be taken. This photo doesn't really do the bird justice as in the right light they are absolutely stunning. I'll hopefully get a good photo during the summer.

It's begging for a tighter crop
the purple tree branch is not needed at all
and also a trip from the top.

Might want to try to reduce some of the purple CA
on the branch the bird is on if you allow I can edit the image for you
to show you.

I did a quick edit of your shot based on the large one posted on your flickr account.
Now this is an edit of a jpeg file so it's already a compressed file not leaving much
room for editing to bring out details etc..

But here goes anyway.

Basically open your shot do your crop
using the selection tool in photoshop selected the area
around the bird then used noiseware pro to reduce the noise
then in photoshop do a selection inverse so now the bird is selected
go to hue/saturation and change to blue channel decrease saturation to remove
the purple chromatic aberration. Then used Topaz adjust 5 to bring out a little detail
and then a curves adjust to give the bird more fill light total edit time 4min
