We have several species of this bird in Florida. Some call it Anhinga and others name it the snake bird because of the way they look while swimming. I've heard the name Cormorants before but have no idea how to distinguish them.
Comparing this image to yours I see the bill and eyes are different...

also the Cormorants have amazing blueish eyes the anhingas have mostly dark
red eyes in the shade they appear dark in bright light they are red.
Another thing to notice is mostly the anhingas are a little bit bigger
enough to tell apart
