Looks like an iguana to me. I'm not an expert on reptile species or anything though. :)

Very nice series of shots! Looks like you had to deal with some harsh lighting and still managed to get great detail.

The lighting was very harsh! I went to Tulum, Mexico to see the Myan ruins and came across these bad boys.. all I remember was minimal shade and hotter than hades!

Would love to own one of these iguanas as my pet... Theyre mad sexy... the last photo is a bit blurred ... the first and second one are fantastic!
On the other hand when I went to Puerto Rico , they are scattered free all over the ground and they go in houses and grasses and all, they are huge , all sizes, and the live baby iguanas can be worn as earrings....

Earings?!?! How interesting! I remember when my sister and I signed up to go on the excursion to Tulum, the told us, that as ladies, we had to wear sneakers because the iguanas would mistake our painted toes for hibiscus flowers and try to eat them!

My mother growing up and living around them well you tend to do these things and know so much!.. In New york they in cages where you have to buy them they green colored here... over there they are gray...they just all slither all around freely where i was at... i would grab them and play with them...
