I'd appreciate any comments, critique and suggestions on this one, particularly on the crop (uploading the full shot first, then the crop). Not sure I've got the most effective framing yet. Thanks!

I think the white area of spray where the water is falling makes for a bright area that stands out and is too centered. I'd probably try various crops and think about the balance of the composition.

Do you want the photo to be more about the foreground or the background? Often I think it would be the foreground but with this it seems like cropping the top won't change the balance much. If you crop the foreground and lose the large rock at the bottom of the frame that might get a better balance. I might try a crop just below those 2 rocks in the lower center of the image and see how that looks.

There's some nice texture and pattern of the rocks etc. in the photo which makes it interesting visually I think.

Thanks, Sharon! I think you nailed what's been bothering me about it; that white area is too centered. Funny how you can stare at one of your shots forever and not see what a fresh pair of eyes will pick up right away.

I'll definitely try cropping from the bottom. In fact, the more I look at it, I think there might be more than one useable image here...
