Nothing more rewarding than seeing an animal happy.  We hear far too many bad things happening to animals or in the world in general, something like this brings a smile to my face.

I notice that 200-400mm is used in many of your shots, is that your go to lens for these sort of shots?  Will you ever use a 1.4x or 2x teleconverter?

My Camera Bag:

Canon 7D | 50mm f/1.2 | 17-40mm f/4 | 70-200mm f/2.8 | 320EX | 580EXII

It is my go to lens for the safaris for sure. The zoom flexibility and speed are the main characteristics the reach at 400mm is good enough for anything except serious birding. Coupled with a high res body cropping for web use at least, adds some more flexibility so ive not used a teleconverter for many years preferring not to loose a stop or two or to remove the lens in the frequently dusty vehicles.

Its a great lens but the coatings etc arnt any longer quite up to scratch with newer models so im eyeing the 180-400mm f4  that has a built in teleconverter
