Impressive portrait!  Looks like she is looking at you!!  Not to ask a dumb question, but when you are on a safari like this, you stay in the truck at all times right?  There is no getting out for better vantage point even if the cats are far away?

I know! I guess there was less then a couple  of feet between me and the gap  I was almost laying down at the time. Thats the benefit of not being in a crowded vehicle, typically its 2 photographers max so a row each I also always have a proper cushion as I know Im going to be crouched at some point lol

Thanks! see my other comment about her looking at me. No questions are dumb :-)  Yes its actually prohibited to get out of the vehicle. We have breakfast and lunch outside in a clear area with good visibility all around that is safe to get out then. As you can see even a low angle can be captured from inside. The key point is having the flexibility to maneuver the vehicle and your position within the vehicle. That varies by park, crowds, etc. Here are some pointers:

This looks like something that should be in a frame and sold.  Dang, impressive shot if you want my 2 cents.

This is my favorite shot of yours that I have seen, Jessy mentioned "Intense" that is really an understatement here.  I have a question for you Bryan, do you ever get nervous with these big cats around you?  I understand you are in a truck, do you carry a firearm while on these tours you are doing?

I was thinking the same thing.  Perhaps the animal was a decent distance from the photographer who could have been safe spot in vehicle.  A good zoom will allow for this.

Thanks, I wouldn't really say I get nervous at any time. When a lion passes right on the side of the vehicle I know im still safe so it feels more exciting then anything. The other big cats dont concern me at all cheetahs are very chill and leopards are too shy.
my closest encounter is here:

Will the cubs get close to you at all out of curiosity?

Most of the young animals are curious but also cautious so they likly stay close to thier parents or see if they move closer or how comfortable they are

Bravo on capturing the essence of this animal.  I was looking around here and see a number of photos from you and saw "exposure tours" in all your photos.  So you offer tours.  How long does it take you to get from where you are staying to these locations?  When you are out on locations like this and nature calls, what do you do with all these animals around?
