I figure I would start this thread as I didn't notice any. Anyone have one and would like to share their experience with this camera. I am planning on getting it but not this year for sure.

So there isn't anyone here that has a D4?

I got one August 1. I had been looking since their release. Finally found one I could get. I like what it does. It seems a little bit lighter in weight that my D3s using the same lenses.

They have been hard to find.

What do you shoot?

Mostly high school sports. We also do a bit of traveling and I like to shoot waterfalls. Used to do weddings but burned out.

YEh if i shot sports I'd have kept my D3s instead of buying a D800e.

One thing I have noticed after shooting the D4 a while is that it seems to take more battery than older Nikons I have used.B)

New regulations in Japan I believe for batteries. The D3/D3s batteries were stupid good. I would usually charge my d3s once a month and use it a few times a week.

I got mine about 2 months ago. They are currently available at amazon.com. I had it on pre order at B&H but that took forever and they are still on preorder. I love everything about the camera. I mean I can't really compare that much since my last one was a D90. Its really fast, love the capability of taking great shots in low light. Amazon is also offering a 12 months intrest free if paid in full. Thats about 500 a month. Not that bad.
