Upgrade from Nikon D800 too D810?

Can someone tell me what would motivate you to upgrade from the D800 (what I have now) to the newer Nikon D810?

For me nothing. I do not see the point of upgrades within the same series. Fact is I have given up the whole obsession of upgrading to the next model as well. What I have been noticing is that the improvements are not all that great. I think maybe I have just become pickier in my old age, or wised up, not sure which others would say.

The D810 is said to have a half stop better high ISO, and lacks an AA filter among a couple other things. I don't see it worth a thousand dollar upgrade, which is what it would likely cost. I'll wait and see what the next generation offers...(the D810 replacement). My D800 simply rocks anyway.

I'm with the other commenters on this one. I just wouldn't upgrade because the differences are substantial enough for me to warrant it. If you have money to burn, invest in lenses!

Didn't Nikon just recycle old parts with minor updates in the D810?

Amen to that.  Plus switching gear so fast..you really don't get to learn it like you should.

When your camera becomes an extension of you, there's less between you and the vision you're trying to portray..instead of getting stuck in menus. :kmonst:
