I rinsed my old one off with a hose and my d3s the same before. Probably not the best idea ;O
They're Nikons....I used to take my D300 camping, and it doubled as a tent stake driver when I wanted to hike light. Tough as nails......(I do NOT recommend)..........

lol I know. I love them. My 70-200 has a lot of "love" scuffs. Their cameras are built like tanks. It would be unfortunate if we accidentally destroyed one though and had to upgrade

Yup, I actually missed a lighter carry around, crop body after selling my D300 and D7000. I think the D7100 is one of Nikon's big surprises, certainly a big improvement over the 7000. I probably shoot it more than my D800......
