When Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 Z mount?

I don't have a Z6 or Z7 yet.  I've been waiting for more glass to be added that doesn't require the use of an adapter.

Would you happen to know Nikons lens release runway, particularly regarding the 70-200mm f/2.8 Z mount?

Nikon does seems to have a schedule on the production but
to have released the bodies as they did is weird to me!

How so?  This is what Sony did back with the A7 and A7R released.  Few lenses at launch.

They have the roadmap on their site, and they've "announced" the f/2.8 S lens, but no information about a release schedule. It shouldn't be long, I would think.

:agree:  It's on the scheduled right below the 24-70mm f/2.8 which is listed as 'coming soon' on B&H already.

I am with Nikon since some 45+ years and I witnessed the then
existing F mount and system grow over that period. I suppose 5
years are not too bad a wait if one needs mirrorless.
