NIKON AF-S VR 200-400MM F/4 ED II

Any of you make the investment into one of these lenses? After the past weekend with the moon event and also I'm trying to get more into nature photography, but find myself needing more zoom than my 70-200mm f/2.8 can deliver. I've seen a couple mentions of this lens, but would like to get some more feedback as this is a pretty pricey lens.

Here are the specs on it:

Thanks for the help

This lens is incredible, one of my friends shoots for reuters at the miami heat games with one of these. Its honestly the sharpest lens ive ever seen. It's around $7000 wherever you look and its sold out almost everywhere.

Great lens I rented it one week-end and loved it. It is a bit on the large size compared to my 80-400 which I bought for its compactness. I would get it used from one of the reliable dealers, VR1 versions are good. I personally cant justify spending that kind of money, I would love to justify getting a 600 f/4 but that aint gonna happen either.

That's Getty's not Reuters. He doesn't shoot NBA anymore BTW.

BUt I agree, really bloody sharp. Amazing, but way too much for most people.
