kenko vs zeikos extension tubes

12 years 10 months ago #99607 by fotozone
I have a Nikon D3100 and I want to get extension tubes. I have read several references to Kenko on the forum but I do not remember seeing anything about Zeikos. This is a link to the Kenko, and this is the Zeikos. A $110.00 difference make me very suspicious :watching: but if they are of equal quality there are other things I could use the money for. Thanks in advance for all input.

I use the Kenkos, but don't remember paying that much for them. Anyway, I like them and use them often. Can't tell you about the zeikos, check the ratings.......

Why so serious?

I have the Zeikos for my Canons. I have not had any issues with them and have some decent shots. I am just learning macro so I can only get better :P .The tubes electronics connections have been fine and given me all the electronic controls, even with all three mounted.
Ratings are 4/5 for Canon and 4.5/5 for Nikon.

Thanks for the info. I was concerned about the quality of the Zeikos and I do still have one question read that they will flex if you use them with a heavy lens. I have 2 lenses a 18-55MM and a 70-300MM from what I understand about extension tubes I will get better results with the 70-300MM lens. John have you tried a lens that long with the Zeikos?

This one taken with a 70-300 IS. I do use my left hand to support the lens as is recommended for steady shots without a tripod.
