Check my shot and edit?

This was done in harsh lighting, no flash, kit lens and my first time out. I set the camera and my sister in law shot us. For editing I was going for the high color saturation look. What's it looking like on your end?
Thank you!

edit- I can already see that the image lost some umf when viewed on the site.

Great looking family, :beerbang: ,,,,, the lighting worked out pretty good, great setting.

You will not be judged as a photographer by the pictures you take, but by the pictures you show.

Good setting and lighting, especially for bright sunlight. Only minor suggestion I have would be to close down the aperture and get a narrower DoF (get the background out of focus a bit). You can do that in PP but better to get it in camera.

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.

Agree with John a wide open lens would have blurred the background but hey its a cracking looking family portrait worthy of an enlargement for the wall. :judge: :judge: :judge: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I like it. Don't despair if the colors are not quite right. For the monitor I push for more color than I would for a print. Unless the monitor is calibrated they most likely don't match.

:judge: :judge: :judge: Very good portraiture.

Wow... thanks for the input. Here is the image in its original state. I'm actually seeing the limitations of my gear now (and of course my own limitations).
