Number 1 for me. The pose looks more natural. You see people prop their chin at times. I have never seen anybody do the 2nd pose except when told to do so by a photographer.

Right, #1 for me too, Randy.

It was the other way around, Randy. This sweet but timid lady
has very expressive eyes but a smile that she is too shy to use
for the camera; so I started with that one as it was not so easy
to have her relax for the pose. The second was spontaneous.

Yes -- #1 for me as well .... the lips and eyes are more comfortable + the tonal response / background (by you) is better
