My attempt at people, Battle Of Old Basing Re-enactment...

12 years 10 months ago #81565 by TheNissanMan
I don't normally shoot people but last summer the largest war re-enactment in the UK was held 5 minutes from my doorstep so thought I had better give it a go, would have been rude not to! These were on the 500D and 100-400L...

Critique as always, welcomed :)

The first one would have been better if you were standing in front of the gun. With people try to include eyes and hands. They tell most about a person.

BTW I didn't mean directly in front of the gun. That might hurt.

Agree completely would be nice to be 'in front' of the gun but unfortauntely they were shooting away from the crowd (I'm guessing for safety) although liked the shot for the flare.

Would love to try get a shot of someone shooting past me though, could be fun :)

Three words... remote shutter release. OK four words... tripod! We had a number of photographers shooting our pistol competitions. Of course that was live ammo where as this was just powder I assume. Great shots though You got a lot more I hope.

Not to many, there were all very similar as the main action was away from us and not really great on camera due to some horrendous backgrounds :(

I can suggest several folks to take the "in front of the shooter" shots. :nunu:

Shoot, learn and share. It will make you a better photographer.
