Sure, it would just take a lot of work in Photoshop. The new way that CS5 uses "content aware" it should be able to fill in the cracks & holes in the image. I would adjust the contrast to give you more detail..or do a level adjustment, The hisogram on the level adjustment window is a great help when editing old photos.

I would convert it to B&W to start with then convert it back to sepia when done editing.

How comfortable are you with Photoshop?

This would make a great challenge thread. Email me the high def image and I'll tweak it as best I can. Anyone else up for a mini contest?

I've had a lot of fun and learned in the process by doing some restoration. The best image you can get is a high definition scan and work from there.

Here's my try

I just downloaded the one you posted...so if the original is any bigger it may have more detail information in it.

I needed something to kill an hour while dinner is being cooked. This worked perfectly for me...

First I bumped the resolution 400% then converted to greyscale for my tweaks.

I like the greyscale version but just to give it back in the more or less same condition here is a aged version. I tried to match the original more or less...

Hold the applause until Maria gets hers done... :woohoo:

I bumped contrast a lot then backed it off after I retouched.
