Memory Card problem

12 years 9 months ago #100329 by Dr. Docter
One of my cards errored and it would not read it in the camera anymore. It said it must be formatted. When I put it on my computer, it brings up a bunch of older pictures that were on it before but not the new ones I just took. I had flipped through the pics on the LCD so I knew they were there. Is there any software that can dig deeper to recover the files?? The card is working but the files are missing.

Sandisk has a nice windows based recovery program they give away with their memory cards called Rescue Pro, Also there's Testdisk 6.12, a freebee that runs from a command line. Testdisk really digs deep.

I'd reccomend getting a copy of Testdisk, besides recovering photos it helps with hard drive revovery and can be run from a flash drive.

No matter how fast I go, there's always someone slower in front of me.

Did you try formatting the card in the camera? not in the computer.
