Number of photos a Nikon D90 can take vs D7000?

Are the newer D7000 camera's able to take double the number of photos a D90 is able to take? I was just reading someone's blog post where they were making this claim? Isn't the D90 suppose to be able to take something like 130,000 photos?

That's a mean time before failure rating based solely on the shutter. Obviously the D90 has a better made shutter. It's a pro-sumer level camera. The four numbered series are entry level.

Really? I didn't know that. 4 numbers means entry level, 2 means pro sumer, 3 means?

I don't know if Nikon has their own well defined categories...

It gets a little cloudy at three. Some think a D700 is pro level (many pros use them), and others think it is pro-sumer. It's one level above two numbers. Maybe pro-pro-sumer. They aren't built quite as well (or weather sealed as well) as the one number "pro" models.

In general, a pro-sumer camera has both PSAM and the green, plus the picture settings (sports, flower, mountain, & etc.), and pro cameras don't have green or the picture choices.

And entry level cameras are built to fall apart if used like a pro camera. Right, chas?

Matthew ;)
