Do you exhale just prior to pressing the shutter button?

I have no doubt I do, I just dont think about it. I shoot my rifles at distant targets to stay in practice so yeah I use the shooters breath for photography as well.

Yes I do... I just developed it naturally, I didn't think of the gun shooting method or whatever, just experimented and such till I got pretty steady. These days I often don't notice my VR is off

One might say that shooters make good shooters whether you cross over from firearms of cameras. Slow steady movement until the trigger/shutter happens.

I don't. I just breath and shoot. Maybe I should start trying to exhale.

Why would you turn your VR off altogether?

I shoot sports and hold my breath as the shutter fires. I think that's more in anticipation of capturing the action more than anything else and thankfully, a 7-8fps, I've never turned blue. :)

Breathing correctly also affects your timing. When you first breathe out, and pause, it makes you calm (and reflective). Don't hold a breath, as some say to do. It makes you anxious.

Never really thought about it.. After thinking about all the other elements to getting the best shot this is another one to try and add, at least to see if it helps. :)

Tripod use.

Got bumped off because I do event photography a lot and have to change lenses quickly or just move quickly.

Basically those too reasons.

Doesn't make me anxious.

I exhale and at the end of the breath just pause my breathing for a second while I shoot. I'm not going blue in the face or anything.
