HDR movies?

Might be a silly question, but do video camera's have the ability to produce movies in HDR?

Kind of. It's been done, but more in the editing end.

I'll find the video i've seen, it's actually pretty cool.

Wouldn't that be close to being 3D? The HDR adds depth to the viewers perception?

Interesting, I'm sure there was a ton of editing to make this clip. Good find

I don't do video but from what I've read, HDR was developed to increase the dynamic range in digital video and video games. The computing power necessary is something along the lines of a Cray Super Computer .... so I don't think home HDR for video is around the corner.

No matter how fast I go, there's always someone slower in front of me.

HDR was around way before video games. It's already been done by semi-pro's.

If pong counts as a video game then I disagree.

It takes my software about 1-1/2 min to process one image after it's been tone mapped. With a frame rate of 20 frames per second .... that's 30 min of processing for 0ne Second of video. That's roughly 30 hours for 1 minute of video.

Anything is possible, if you have the time and $$$$.

HDR has been around since the birth of cameras. It's not just a digital thing.
