Content Presentation

Last year, I photographed an annual mountain bike race ... a first in the sports department for me. My website wasn't ready for this type of content yet so I posted some temporary pages in order for the event's website to link to the pictures. Once I get my website set up the way I want it, the content will be presented in a better way.

I will be covering the race again this year and, because it is in October, I have time to come up with a better design to present the pix. Last year's content is still in its temporary state:

I would like some suggestions on how to present this year's race. The news page will probably be similar but I want the picture pages to be more user-friendly. Also, this year will include video.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

I like the photos... easy to say because they are first rate. What did surprise me was the narrative you included. This was first rate also but gave a perspective not only focused on the riders and conditions (like the photos) but also on the photographers struggle with the elements. You put yourself out there in a vulnerable way that took some guts both metaphorically and in a physical way. I'm wondering if any of the other photographers will follow your lead this year and step into the subject and out of the parking lot. Well done.

Thanks Charles :)

I don't know if it's "The Norm" that no one else went into the trails or if it was because of the weather. The race is scheduled at the worst possible time. October 2 is typically the first snowfall each year and although last year it was September 29, Oct 3 was quite cold and rainy. This year, the race is Oct 2, so it probably won't be any better. Thankfully, I'm used to shooting in all weather conditions so, although I don't like the cold, it really didn't bother me.

I have a rental car reserved so I can go again this year but I want to prepare my website ahead of time. I want to charge for the full size pix this year but I'm not sure how to present them on my website ... I need suggestions. Anyone done anything similar?
