That's more than I got. Can he do weddings?

He can do Lucis Pro.

I sold stuff to buy some stuff, but I'll try and calculate how much I spent and get back to you...

About $45-50k (in USD that is) :o

Of course I also sold some things to buy things, so the actually out of pocket expenses would be about half that amount I guess.

Oh and I CAN do weddings!

Just don't like it much.

Haven't totaled it up, interesting question. I guess I'll revert back to my high school days and show all the calculation work instead of just answering the question ;)

First body/lens kit - $650
First telephoto lens for crop sensor - $300
First camera bag - $50
First upgrade for a walk-around lens instead of the kit lens(used...and it sucked :( ) - $150
50mm f/1.8 - $125
First speedlight (used) - $150
Cheap used sigma wide-angle (also sucked) - $65
Second body (used 5D) - $800
First L lens (used) - $900
Bigger speedlight (used) - $230
Telephoto lens for full frame (cheap used one since I don't use telephoto much) - $200
Second camera bag - $50
Other various items like remote shutter release, flash extension cables, softboxes/diffusers, etc - not sure how much

Given to me for free:
Nikon 35mm body with 50mm prime, 36-72 f/3.5, and 70-210 f/4
Tripod

So what I can remember comes out to about $3,670 or so.

If you want to buy online, try B&H, Adorama, or Amazon. KEH has used gear if you need to stay in a budget (we all do at times).

Well I'd be in the same boat.
