Do most photographers shoot with either Nikon or Canon?

I would say that in america yes that would be right but in europe I would that olympus would be a used a little more my first DSLR was a olympus and I loved it however I broke it:) but olympus doesn't seem to support their DSLR much anymore even with the E-5 with the m4/3 so I went back to canon

Among professional photographers that may be true. I don't think the figure would be so high for enthusiasts and casual photographers. I have a Canon myself, but in my view the popular advice that everybody should buy the favorites of pros is really absurd. There are lots of happy owners of the other brands.

I'd say it is high - just a guess would be at 80% from the cameras I see slung at places like Disney World and Sea World. I see a fair share of Sony now as well.
