Waterproof P&S?

Anyone have a waterproof point and shoot camera? I'm wondering how good they and just how waterproof they are.

I'm going on vacation next summer and i was looking at the waterproof P&S and thought they would be perfect if they do the job that they say they do. It's not an urgent need or anything i was just bored so thought i'd do some looking around at different point and shoots.

So does anyone have any experience with these. Image wise, I'm not expecting anything top notch, I have a DSLR for my more artistic stuff. I'll just be using this for snapshots most likely. If you catch my drift..

Thanks.

It depends what you mean by waterproof.

There are a few cameras such as the Olympus MJU 3000, which is waterproof. I would class this as "splash proof" and wouldn't feel comfortable submerging it for any more than a few seconds.

Then you can take any P&S and place it in something to make it waterproof. This opens up many more choices of camera.

I was looking at the cameras that aren't cased that are already waterproof. I don't really want to spend on the camera and the casing things are like $100 -200....

I was looking at these two..

The Fujifilm is a good one, I had worked in a camera shop and people like this as it is a good cheapish option for water holidays.

I'm a big Olympus fan in this area. I've had two of their waterproof to 10 feet cameras. I am very satisfied.

Thanks. Price wise i'd prefer to go with the fujifilm, though brand wise i'd rather go with the olympus. I don't know, something to think about it.

My buddy has a 15-foot waterproof Olympus model. I was pretty impressed with it!
