High speed photography

I would like to photograph balloon burst, water drops, bugs in flight and wondering if anyone has tips on how or what equipment is needed to successfully shoot these items? I've done some Google searches and found some various triggers that either work on sound or laser that trigger your shutter. I would be very grateful if I could get some tips from you before I go running out and buying all this stuff.

If you have any photos, please post them and share with me how did you take the shot. What equipment was used, etc. Again, I can't thank you enough.

Justin

Very nice to meet you!

There was another thread on a topic like this that started a few days. Someone had gone to a workshop on this topic and got some awesome photos. You might want to check it out. Will pm if I find it.

I think there is a video tutorial on this in the tips section. Go up to Search and search for high speed photography. I remember seeing a video of a gun shot going thru a ballon.

The basic tools are:

1. A dark (not bright) room
2. A flash
3. A way to trigger the flash

Focus manually, and try to capture the perfect moment.

Good point. Yes, a tripod will make it much easier.
