model release for display? Or just to sell?

I was at an Art event this past weekend and there was a free concert going on in the park. So I took some photos and was wondering if I can display them on my website. I wasn't planning on selling them. So displaying my work I assume is ok,?

As far as I understand it, you personally don't need a model release at all. But if, for example, you sold the photo to a advertising agency and they used the image...they would be the ones who needed the model release. So working back from that, if you did want to sell the images for that purpose, you would be best served to get the model release.

But in your case, I'd think that you don't have anything to worry about.

Thanks, so I'm alright when it comes to displaying on a site. That's awesome.

If it was a public outdoor event I wouldn't think it would be a problem. You could check out some of the professional photography sites like ASMP that have resources available related to usage and release forms etc.
