Infrared portraits

I was just looking at some of the infrared landscape photos in the gallery here and noticed there weren't any of people. Anyone try taking a portrait with infrared? I would be curious to see how it turned out.

Don't look at me, I didn't do it :)

I've done IR portraits with both film and digital. I'll try to dig some up, and post them.

Here is a link to a cyclocross race I shot using an IR converted 20D. Not exactly portraits, but plenty of people shots.

The skin is usually a lighter tone than normal. Red freckles and blemishes disappear. Lips look like they are the same tone as the rest of the face. Eyes usually look darker tone than we are used to. If the light source is bright enough you can often see veins beneath the skin. The tone of clothing has more to do with what it's made from than what color it is. For instance cotton blue jeans and a white cotton shirt may both look similarly bright. Some sunglasses block IR and others don't, so it can sometimes reveal eyes behind sunglasses that I can't see through with normal vision.

Great shots Matt

Well after viewing the IR portraits, I say IR does a pretty good job on portraits too.
