Camera tossing

There was a thread here a few weeks ago about camera tossing. At first I thought it was a joke, but continued to dig around and found that people do this. While cleaning out the garage last week I found a old P&S camera that was I'm guessing 8 years old. I figured let's try this camera tossing thing, if I drop this old camera oh well.

I tossed the camera up with a delay shutter set. Results: nothing exciting. I tossed the camera up again with the same results. Honestly I don't see the risk being worth the results. I ended up tossing the camera up 5 times and after looking at the results decided this wasn't worth the risk of damaging a 8 year old P&S. So what gets me is how people can justify newer DSLR's being tossed up in the air? Are these people sponsored by Canon and Nikon?

Oh I imagine tossing a camera in the air, take a ton of practice, just like photography itself does....to get a good photo.

Tossing a camera up in the air is all about luck. Holding a camera and taking a photo is all about skill. ;)
